Have a problem with... you... keeping it real? what? *shrug* Strong atheist here. Wish I understood what this whole god thing was about... as in, why people believe.

Have a problem with... you... keeping it real? what? Noe, noe, problem with my religion and suggest that I am like what their idea of a Christian is, and hate me based on their pre-concieved ideas, without checking who I am.

Ah. I find that someone saying "I'm Christian" tells about as much about them as them saying "I'm white" "I'm female" "I have 2 legs"- ie. nothing. People can be so very, very different.

Well, I'm christian too, though I'm not as strong a believer as I used to be. Religion doesn't matter to me, though it makes relationships difficult if you believe in different things. xD

Really? While my best friend does hold very similar beliefs... A lot of my good friends are mormons/christians/whatever. Doesn't really stop us from being friends.

Would it matter to you if Taeshi was a radical atheist? Noe-Yes. As a modern guy I'm obligated to approach everyone with the mindset that they have their own opinions and beliefs, and that I shouldn't question them unless I wanna land my ass in court. On the other hand, I'd prefer to talk things through with everyone, even radical atheists. I work with, If you message me, I'll tell you. I don't get on trains and "preach" really loudly while people commute to work, or stand on corners with a sandwich board over my head shouting "THE END OF THE WORLD" though.

My last girlfriend was Christian, and that didn't seem to hurt our relationship. Then again we are broken up now... But we're still amiable. And the problem was hardly religion. I realize different value systems/beliefs can cause a strain, but they don't automatically mean you can't get along. That's one of the things I dislike- people assuming you can't get along. "Oh, you're Jewish? I better not introduce you to my friend! He's Palestinian. You guys hate each other." GAH! Grarfhgh! GARARRH!

I wouldn't go that far, but yeah. My religious views and my exboyfriend's did not match up at all. So, it made me feel like when I did talk about my beliefs, all he could do was sit there and take it. Which didn't seem fair, I thought. But we rarely talked about Politics or Religion or anything. It always got us into trouble. :x

Hmm. I've never had trouble talking about politics/religion. Usually, the person against it isn't even the one I'm talking to- but rather some random bystander who goes, "Oh noes, you shouldn't talk about poly-ticks or religion! It is the controversial!"
And? So what if something is controversial? That just means there's controversy- as in, differing viewpoints and opinions. Do we all have to agree on something to talk about it?
"Bob, sugar is sweet, is it not?" "Oh yes, Joe, indeed it is!" "What intellectually stimulating conversation!" "DOHOHOHHO!"
Blar.

Exacacatly! In my opinion, controversy is hardly a bad thing, in an of itself. It can be an issue if you're trying to decide what to do, but in conversation, it's practically necessary.

Yep yep. Though a lot of conversation that happens between friends is normally retarded and just overall pointless. Or so it is with my group of friends. Pfft. Goodness, God knows I love them though.

Yeah, I totally understand, but every once in a while, we have discussions about life, the universe and everything. And then someone makes a Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy joke, and that's a small step from Monty Python, and then it just get silly...
