Dark_Daemon's my common online alias. Feel free to call me Daemon (Not Dark, since apparently we've got a DarkDrake) or V.
Started reading this comic on Saturday, finished the archives that same day. Waited with great anticipation until Monday and new comic.
My favorite things about the comic are the style (cute, earnest, and sometimes sexy) and the characters- or more specifically their flaws. It's rare to see such wonderfully flawed characters in webcomics.

It's good to have you, Daemon. :] I agree with your analysis of the style. I love it. KITTIES.

well, flaws are not always good. I have seen things that had flawed characters who refused to develop *cough*Naruto*cough* to the point where the thing often felt like a pointless angst-fest
while the characters in bcb are flawed, they are all BELIEVABLE in there flaws, with many aspects that a reader can relate to, as well as with many positive traits. Also, there is character development very often, as each chapter usualy sees a resolution to some problem or another, r atleast an insight into the characters feelings
and welcome to the forum!!

I'm reminded of an XKCD comic. xkcd.com/231/I find both style and substance are vitally important for webcomics. As a short story I once read stated: if the medium is horrible, no one will listen to the message. A good message will make people consume poor medium. And good enough medium is a message in and of itself. I think there's a message in the artistic style of BCB. Something about how the characters are somewhere in between the cuteness of childhood and the "sexy" of adulthood. Or I'm just reading too much into it. Look! A distraction! EDIT(Cuz someone posted while I was typing): Well, what I meant was I like the flaws- ie. high quality flaws. Not just, "oh, brr, I'm clumsy! Tee-hee! Aren't I cute?! Tee-hee!" Bleh.

Oh Lordy. I fell in love with that comic, and it makes way too much sense. darkdrake: I totally agree with the Naruto thing, and also, MARY-SUES AND GARY-STUS are a menace to this world.

I avoided using those dreaded words. They tend to draw bad things. *glanced around* Speak of the devil, as they say.
Then again, there have been (very few) examples of Mary/gary sues done well- not as part of a character driven story, but perhaps as examinations of the genre, or deconstructions of the trope. After all, tropes aren't bad.
Not linking because I don't want people to be sucked into a black hole. And cuz I'm lazy.

lol, it's cool. I'd rather not have a door to another dimension posted up anyhow. Those dreaded... things might weasel their way in.

Tentacle, I can deal with. Non-Euclidean geometry? Please. I deal with much worse in class.
But the sues? There is none who can survive that onslaught.

I'm torn between laughing and throwing up. Normally, bad literature can be amusing... but oh god... it makes me sick...
What did the English language do to you to deserve this?! Did it eat your cat or something? Why would you do this??
